The first Mother Hubbard's was a simple
caravan at the side of the Dublin/Galway road. Famous for its mug of tea
and sausage and bacon sandwich, the place quickly became a landmark for
great
food worth stopping for. Over the years Mother Hubbard's
has welcomed people from all walks
of life, famous sports teams, media celebrities, musicians,
and of course the truckers!

When we set up Mother Hubbard's in 1972,
we wanted to create the kind of roadside restaurant that is a home from
home. When you are travelling, or even when you are not travelling you
want delicious, hearty, homemade food that tastes great, looks great, and
is served with a smile.

The purpose-built restaurant - early nineties

At Mother Hubbard's, where possible, we
source all our meat from local farms and all our vegetables and seasonal
fruits from local growers. We buy our breads, pies and desserts from local
people too. That's why our food is the freshest, simplest and tastiest
Irish food you can get. It's also why some things are
only available when they're in season.

Encouraged by the positive feedback from
satisfied
customers we have set our sights on expanding our operations
to all corners of the country. Since 1998, we have opened new
outlets in Cashel, Co. Tipperary and Kilcolgan, Co. Galway
and we currently employ 260 people. More recently, this year has seen the
opening in February and March of our newest outlets in Oranmore,
Galway and Larkin's Cross,
Wexford.
